“DARE – To Take That First Step” is a documentary filmed and directed by Silvia Tonelli and produced by NoOx Worldwide.
In May 2021, Silvia Nocentini, 26, launched her music industry business and decided to embark on a journey to Senegal.
For Sek, an Italian-Senegalese artist, this is an opportunity to rediscover his roots after 12 years of being away.
Waiting for them in Dakar is F.U.L.A., who had moved to Senegal a year earlier.
Together, they aim to make the most of the Senegalese music industry in just 10 days.
That’s not all. Along the way, the documentary delves into the identities and aspirations of each individual, capturing intimate moments that add emotional depth to the film.
With DARE, we witness young entrepreneurs, cross-cultural connections coming together on a single format.

Silvia is a young entrepreneur from Italy.
In 2018 she starts her pioneer project in the Afro Urban Music market in Italy.
After her first time in Senegal, at the end of 2019, other professional experiences and the lockdown, she finally decides to invest in an innovative start-up enterprise, in 2021, bridging Italy, the Afro Diaspora and Sub Saharan Africa, starting from Senegal.
This time she’s been invited by the DMX’s Creative Director to travel to Senegal and to concretize her missions in a limited amount of time, as much as possible.
SEK
Khadimou is a renowed rapper in Italy, pioneering the drill sounds together with the famous producer Drillionaire.
In 2020 meets NoOx.
In 2021 he finally has the chance to go back to Senegal for several days, meeting his family, performing, meeting and sessioning with diverse artists and creatives of the Senegalese music industry.
F.U.L.A.
Oumar is an Afro Urban artist, grown in Italy, one of the first in Italy, pioneering the style, decolonising the Afro and African storytelling through his lyrics and mindset.
F.U.L.A. meets NoOx in 2018 and together they face the first trip to Senegal in 2019.
During the lockdown Oumar moves to Senegal, where he finally meets new local and pan-African artists and creates music with new approaches.
